He was also the former Editor of the USS LCI National Association’s newsletter, Elsie Item, from 2014–2016. Zach accepted the position as Editor of the LST Scuttlebutt in November 2014. It is published quarterly by our Editor in Chief, Zach Morris United States Landing Ship Tank Association Karma will, IMHO trump Scientology.LST Scuttlebutt is the official newsletter It’s a real shame, as well as a disgrace to Hollywood these actors listed spirit and openness with the ship’s crew hasn’t perpetuated to today’s arrogant celebrities. I was able to have a conversation with Kirk Douglas, Martin Sheen, Katherine Ross, James Farentiino, Charles Durning and Ron O’Neal. In 1979, a movie crew came on board the USS Nimitz (CVN-68) to film segments of the movie, “The Final CountDown.” All the primary and secondary officers were amicable and friendly with all the crew and their family members. good, bad or indifferent… they were privy to the consequences of their actions…. this information was part of command’s annual General Military Training also… therefore…. or ask any Mess Deck / Sea Lawyer that’s been to an Article 15 once or twice. I’m sure all this can be checked out an verified somewhere on line…. at which point, they have to appeal whatever disciplinary action the Article 15 awarded to them. Then again… shipboard commands are allowed to deny a Special /Summary Court Martial request. which would IMHO, allow them a better opportunity to beat the charges…. I would attempt to waive the Article 15 NJP charges, and request a Special Court Martial…. If I was that/those sailors being article 15’d …. If charges were executed on sailors placing the “social media” remarks… good, bad or indifferent….” that’s a whole different ball game…… Just about anything can be bounced off the Manual of Court Martial and USMJ with regards to not promoting or practicing “Good Order and Discipline.” No matter what the “emotional feeling is…” there’s a tightrope to be walked when adjudicating this type of situation. That would be arguable in a court martial. IMHO, that would be impossible to litigate, as they would conflict with and negate several of the Navy’s/Military’s “General Orders.” which are 24/7 consistent with all members of the Armed Forces / DOD. IMHO, whatever order was given, by the CO or his Command Representatives with regards to conduct towards Tom Cruise and his movie crew / posse… was it was a lawful order? The burden of proof would have to be proofed by who brought charges upon the sailor(s). as it’s not a “LAWFUL ORDER.” The knowledge level, skill set and integrity of those giving and receiving orders determines what’s “Lawful” and what’s Unlawful.” Direct is just BS, period. to which that order can be refused by subordinates …. a superior officer can give a direct order to his/her subordinates, to have $1M dollars removed from the station’s/ship’s vaults and placed in the trunk of his personal automobile…. a “direct order” really doesn’t matter if the “direct order” isn’t a “LAWFUL ORDER.” Example…. technically, there’s no such thing as a “DIRECT ORDER.” “In terms of UCMJ 92, was a direct order given by the US Navy that no one could make posts on social media about Tom Cruise and the making of Top Gun 2? Is that what you’re saying? Was an order given?” end quote.Īllow me to clarify…. The sign reads, “ Tom Cruise? We never heard of her!“ NATO special operators in Afghanistan responded to Cruise’s outlandish statement with this photo. And certainly on this last movie, it was brutal. Tom Cruise not only thinks he trains harder than Olympic athletes, he believes his job as a professional actor is as grueling as fighting the war in Afghanistan - this according to legal docs obtained by TMZ.įirst, the Middle East - Tom says his location shoots are just like serving a tour in Afghanistan, “That’s what it feels like. TMZ reported that Tom Cruise ridiculously claimed the following in a deposition: On a related note we remind readers of Tom Cruise’s 2013 epic disaster in which he claimed that his job was as hard as fighting in Afghanistan. Ron Hubbard’s Fake Purple Hearts and Bronze Star! Tom Cruise is a Scientologist and obeys L. So fvck him and his couch.- SPACE FORCE BN CMDR B.I.G. Not to mention that he almost drowned filming a scene in the water and DIDN'T even acknowledge the Navy divers that rescued him. During the filming of the first Top Gun Tommy boy was an a-hole to most of his fellow cast and crew.
